Blue Jays Prepare for Free Agency
The Toronto Blue Jays have been busy preparing for free agency, and believe there are a couple of gems out there worth paying attention to.
"There are a couple of free agents that are a high priority on our list, and we truly believe that if these guys in fact sign with us, a championship will be coming to Toronto," says new assistant GM Mark Knuttila.
Krymusa, LF, Detroit, hit .266 in 119 games for the Yankees last season with 21 home runs and sixty RBIs. The Toronto Blue Jays feel that the 5-10 native of St Louis will contribute a lot to this team and if he signs, he'll get a starting position at center field.
Mears, SS, Toronto, will hopefully be re-signed to a deal. Mears hit .440 in 14 games for the Jays and will have the starting SS position for the preseason. What he does from there depends on him.
Rose, C, Jerusaleum, may be the catcher that the Blue Jays are looking for. Hitting .275 in 125 games, and getting 30 home runs will boost the Jays' offence.

SPRING TRAINING AT DUNEDIN, FLORIDA
The Toronto Blue Jays will be soon entering training camp at Dunedin Stadium. Pitchers are expected to arrive on Monday, while the fielders will be there sometime around Wednesday.
FEB 24 - The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have agreed to contracts for the 1999 season with AGM Mark Knuttila. Mark looks to bring his expertise to the ballclub and help them win a championship this season. Terms of the deal were undisclosed, however it was let known that he will take over either an expansion team for season 3 or be brought in as early as this season if a GM gets fired.
